The Choppers

The helicopters Airpowder uses are Eurocopter Ecureuils (Squirrel) B3 and B4. They can accommodate 5 passengers in total comfort and are fast ,high performance machines and have a limited environmental impact. The fleet we have access to are immaculately maintained by a professional team of on site engineers and ground crew.

Airpowder's pilots are the some of the best in the world as they are trained for Swiss Mountain Rescue. We also have Heli TV available to film your skiing experience.

Environmental policy

At Airpowder we want to keep the powder! Airpowder aims to reduce its carbon footprint at every stage of its operation. Our policy runs as follow -

• Our base resort of Leysin is a renewable power user, generating energy from solar panels. The resort tourist office says: "As Leysin 's inhabitants have more and more interest in ecology and renewable energies, we hope it will develop a lot in the future."
• Airpowder only use helicopters that are highly fuel efficient and hence far more environmentally friendly than those used by heliski operations in other countries and areas
• By heliskiing in Europe you are avoiding the carbon accrual of a transatlantic flight
• Airpowder can include on request an offsetting of your carbon emissions for your helicopter trips and stay. Please enquire at time of booking
• Airpowder are members of the Ski Club of Great Britain's Respect the Mountain campaign
